Obituary for William David Byrd

William D Byrd (Will, Uncle Will), of Livonia Michigan passed away October 6, 2021 peacefully.

William was born in Dearborn Michigan on July 4, 1932 to Hubert and Clara Byrd. He graduated from Dearborn High School. William never married.

William worked For Ford Motor Company as a Tool and Die Maker and proudly retired after 30 years of employment.

He was an avid collector of quite a few things. He had an extensive coin collection and comic book collection, which included a number of sealed and graded comics. He also had an interest in Danbury Mint and Bradford Exchange collector plates. In his earlier days, he spent many hours riding his bike, walking, and feeding the squirrels at Garden City Park. But William's greatest joy was to be at family gatherings and events and spending time with the little ones of the family.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as many great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Clara Byrd; brothers, Hubert, Richard, and Danny Byrd, and sister, Carolyn Wright. He was also preceded by a number of nieces and nephews.

Instead of flowers the family requests that you make a donation in his name to a charity that you are passionate about.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 14th from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at Manns Family Funeral Home.

William will be In-State for final visiting on Friday, October 15th from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt, Livonia 48154. Burial will follow at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West, Westland, 48185.
